Which test should you do?
Since Radon levels in a home can fluxuate drastically in a short amount of time due to many different factors, it is always best to perform longer tests to more accurately represent the average Radon level. Real estate transactions in Ohio require at least a 48 hour test. We offer a variety of short term tests. See above.

All Radon tests are performed by a licensed Radon Wrecker professional using Sun Nuclear 1027 testing devices. All short term Radon tests must meet "closed house" conditions during testing. Any 48 hour or 72 hour short term test MUST also have closed house conditions met at least 12 hours before testing. If you cannot meet the "closed house" conditions prior testing (in the case of a 48 or 72 hour test), than we will charge an additional $20 to extend the test an additional 12 hours(the first 12 hours of the test will be discarded). So please schedule your test accordingly. "Closed house" conditions MUST be met and maintained during the testing period (a requirement for all test lengths). "Closed house" conditions are listed below.

What are closed house conditions?
-Close all doors and windows.
-Keep all windows and doors closed except for normal entry and exit.
-Do not run any exhaust or window fans.
-Normal operation of HVAC is allowed.
-Make sure any Radon mitigation system is running.

These conditions specified above must be met at least 12 hours before any 48 hour or 72 hour short term test! The conditions must be maintained for the entire length of all tests.

Residential Radon Mitigation System Installation

Previous Radon test at or above 4 pCi/L?
If you have already determined that you need to mitigate based on previous test results, we will need to schedule a day to assess the property and home for a mitigation strategy. Most homes will utilize and benefit the most using an Active Soil Depressurization System (ASD). These systems will typically reduce Radon levels by 80%-99%.

How much do these systems cost?
Because every Radon mitigation system is unique to each home, systems can vary in price dramatically. Please contact us to schedule a day and time to come quote a price. Typcially these systems can cost anywhere from $800 - $2000 depending on the house.
